25 degree temps last night in Williston, Florida. Cold enough that the sensor on my buddy’s D80 froze up and started producing all sorts of bizarre artifacts. :eek3:
1 hour 15 minutes. . .
16 minutes. I nuked the first exposure by forgetting to turn the ISO down to 200 from 3200. :hsd:

Shot a 4 hour party for the asian b-day girl. All except 15 (3 second exposure) shot with D300s w/ Tokina 16-50 and sb600 corded fired at 1/8. aperture varies b/t 4.0-6.3. Had a blast, plus I got some more business contacts (more parties and some product lines need to be shot).

Initial thoughts…
3d tracking is almost as good at the d300s, misses in a few spots, the button position for rigged AF-On is janky (cramps my hand reaching my thumb over to the AEL button), 6fps is just barely enough for high action sports, ISO is very clean, switching through AF menus is a pain in the a**, but the body more then adequate for shooting sports.
need a grip ASAP. my hand hurts bad today, and i only shot one undercard to get the feel of it.
and oh yeah, only SD cards and proprietary battery makes me sad 🙁

This came in over the weekend.
Two FlashZebra 580EX Replacement Foot Assemblies with Installed Mini Jack Sync Port. This is cool shit. I can now mount a pocketwizard to my 580 flash and plug into the sync port on the flash so I can fire both my on-camera flash and off camera lights.
