met w/ a doozy of a bride today good 2024.

met w/ a doozy of a bride today good ، met w/ a doozy of a bride today good

sounded nice through email, sounded nice on the phone, get to our meeting spot and she busts out w/ a single sheet that she typed in MS Word.

Had 3 categories.

1. What I’m looking for
2. What I like
3. What I want to avoid

Started reading it and it started ok, then it became more and more disturbing as I read.

Here’s her list.

Quote:
WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR

– all day coverage (wedding ceremony, and reception, i.e. from start to end)
– 2 photographers
– unlimited shooting
– DVD of all photos ( ya, right)
– online access of photos
– leather flush mount album w/ creative placement of photos
– 2 large canvases (on for each family)
– large canvas for display
(she didn’t want a pic I took, but instead a shitty pic take w/ a P&S of them in Italy w/ her kissing him on the cheek and a shitty background that she wanted me to photoshop out. strike one! )
– bridal session
– half day coverage for engagement party
(asian tradition… falling on my son’s 3rd birthday – strike two! )

WHAT I LIKE

– bright, colorful, cheerful photos
– some candid stuff
– some artsy stuff
– photos of every detail (flowers, wedding cake, reception decorations, limo, church, etc.)
– nature backgrounds, church backgrounds (for bridal)
editing of fiance’s red-face from drinking (if it shows up in photos) (STRIKE THREEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!)
– photos of everyone
– photos of everyone in cool backgrounds (whatever the fuck that means!)

WHAT I’D LIKE TO AVOID

– city backgrounds
– photos of girls getting make-up and hair done (thats my forte, so no thank you!)
– photos of people throwing up (from drinking too much) – (sounds like a classy party!) :ugh:
– studio photos
– photoshop backgrounds (the exact thing she wanted me to do w/ her display picture) :ugh:
– photos of people smoking
top it off, she didn’t want an engagement session (big no no w/ me and my style) and she also asked about not posting her pictures online so everyone could see… like my blog.

So I shook her hand, said it was nice to meet her and came home. Then I sent her an email saying I won’t be doing her wedding, regardless of how much she pays me… in a nice way, of course. Luckily, the feeling was mutual and she knows she’s being difficult and asking too much. But this is what she wants and she’s willing to sift through photog after photog to find one that will tell her yes.

I’m so glad I won’t be doing this wedding that its almost a relief she wasn’t dead set on me. Anyway, just thought I’d share my lovely experience from today. 😮
