Bride & 4 Friends Shoot – Tips and Advice? good 2024.

Bride & 4 Friends ShootTips and Advice? good ، Bride & 4 Friends Shoot – Tips and Advice? good

The girl that I did the e-shoot for asked me to take pics of her in her dress with 4 girlfriends in formal dresses. The actual wedding is done and it was too small for any "bridesmaids"

I think I have a good idea of what to attempt with them, but is there anything I should look for in herding a group of 5 girls around? Anything to do/not to do in particular?

I was going to snap a few of the bride alone since she has 0 photos of herself in her dress solo that look good. I was also going to attempt to mimic Jared’s 1 bride 1 girl 1funny pic/1serious pic idea.

Anything else?

Thank you

Some income is starting to trickle in for this coming season and I’m debating on my next equipment purchase.

Just picked up a 27" i7 iMac which is perfect for stills editing. Another couple of engagement shoots coming and then a few weddings booked for the season.

Now I’m deciding between a Wacom intuos4 tablet and a Drobo for redundant storage. Whichever one I don’t choose this time will be purchased pretty soon but which one would you guys go with first?

Not 100% sure how useful the Wacom tablet will be for what I’m doing (not a digital artist, just a photographer) but it looks like a nice fix for the "photoshop mouse claw" that can happen after long editing sessions.

The Drobo would be nice to have everything backed up with some redundancy.

Hints, advice, anything?

Advice on compiling a portfolio. good 2024.

Advice on compiling a portfolio. good ، Advice on compiling a portfolio. good

I’ve been inspired by the baller portfolio displays I’ve seen on here, like Dylan’s and Clint’s, so I want to put a book together to have ready for galleries. (Although my book’s content won’t be as epic as theirs! 😮 )

But I’m in a dilemma about choosing images: Do I choose my most popular images (as in most response, and have been invited for exhibition, etc.) even thought they may not be my most favorite, or do I choose the images I’m most proud of, and I feel represent me, even though they may not be my most popular?

There is some overlap, but for the most part the work I’m proudest of isn’t my most popular work.

How should I choose?

Advice? good 2024.

Advice? good ، Advice? good

So, a few of you know my ‘photography’…I use the term loosely because I’m definitely NOT a pro and have a shit ton to learn. Thing is, I can see how shitty a lot of my stuff is, but I am having more an more people asking me to do photos for them and asking when I’m going pro. :ugh: I don’t have set prices and I feel guilty charging anything, but if they want me to spend the time, then I don’t want to do everything for free…and of course a little money while I’m learning doesn’t hurt.

I don’t want to become one of those god-awful Facebook Professional Photographers, but I am thinking about making a page so I have something to point people to when they ask me about it. My question is, how do I go about offering my services to those who want them without touting myself as a pro? What’s the line between being professional enough to get some business while I’m trying to improve and a Facebook Professional Photographer? :p And…what the hell do I charge??

Here’s my DeviantArt gallery for reference. (mix of old and new; I can’t organize the Featured by date, bah!)
