I’ve seen some people that take pictures of people (Homeless) on the street to achieve a certain effect in a picture. Maybe a homeless person outside of an abandoned building, etc. I saw a great b&w picture of an older guy wearing his USN Retired shirt, UAW hat and he as leaning against the wall of a auto plant in Detroit. Great visual…you could just feel his pain. He gave so much – yet had so little.
What is the proper etiquette? I don’t want to just run up to someone, snap their picture and split. How have you approached this in the past? Obviously I will ask their permission first…just a matter of how. Manners…
Do you just ask them to take their picture?
Do you chat with them a bit first?
If they are begging for money when you come across them…what is a "polite donation for their time"? $1? $5?
This would be done in a tasteful nature – with their dignity intact.
…I know I ask a lot of questions…I’m used to providing all the answers on some of the other forums I go on where I am one of the subject experts and the noobs are asking ME the questions. So I’ve paid my dues… 😉
