Canon Lens issue? good ، Canon Lens issue? good
I have a Canon 75-300mm lens (non IS – its about 5 years old) and i noticed it has been acting up recently. Whenever i try to zoom it jams a little or it was a little harder to turn recently. I was messing with the lens and just zooming in and out and somehow the casing lost traction with the body of the lens. What i mean by this is – I can move the zoom case but it wont zoom in or out – the case seem to lose contact with the body.
I tried to fix it by trying to hold it down and moving it but now it’s stuck on 1 zoom and it automatic focuses sometimes. Anyone know if i can open up the camera case and try to fix the problem? I took it to a Canon care center (i’m out of the country atm and they said it’ll take 10-15 days to fix) but by that time i’ll be out of the country and they wouldnt even tell me a price since they have to ship it to the company hq in the country.
Anyone ever have this problem b4 with this lens?
tl;dr – the camera case moves but it wont zoom. it lose traction with the actual zoom body of the lens.
btw to make matters worse- my kit lens gives me an ERR 99 all the time but i saw some tutorials online to remedy the issue which i’ll try later such as clean the golden sensor of the lens with an eraser.
