I have a Canon 75-300mm lens (non IS – its about 5 years old) and i noticed it has been acting up recently. Whenever i try to zoom it jams a little or it was a little harder to turn recently. I was messing with the lens and just zooming in and out and somehow the casing lost traction with the body of the lens. What i mean by this is – I can move the zoom case but it wont zoom in or out – the case seem to lose contact with the body.

I tried to fix it by trying to hold it down and moving it but now it’s stuck on 1 zoom and it automatic focuses sometimes. Anyone know if i can open up the camera case and try to fix the problem? I took it to a Canon care center (i’m out of the country atm and they said it’ll take 10-15 days to fix) but by that time i’ll be out of the country and they wouldnt even tell me a price since they have to ship it to the company hq in the country.

Anyone ever have this problem b4 with this lens?

tl;dr – the camera case moves but it wont zoom. it lose traction with the actual zoom body of the lens.

btw to make matters worse- my kit lens gives me an ERR 99 all the time but i saw some tutorials online to remedy the issue which i’ll try later such as clean the golden sensor of the lens with an eraser.

I went and played around with a 60D at Fry’s tonight with the fiance.

I sold my D80 to help pay for the ring.

We agreed that we would go halfsies on a new DSLR for our wedding gift to each other.

I was thinking of going with a 7D or a 60D, which do you guys prefer? I know they’re different cameras with different specs, but I wanted your guys’ opinion on both.

I like Nikons ergos and am used to their controls. I didn’t like that i had to push down a button on the 60D to turn the wheel for modes. It’s also on the left as opposed to on the right with the D80. i do like the flip out LCD screen on the 60D, I have yet to play with a 7D.

I also want HD video and I don’t know if either has a stereo jack for audio.
Anyway, opinions needed. Thanks guise.

Also, I tried a search, but couldn’t find anything because i’m lazy.

I’ve had it for a month but havent taken more than ~50 shots with it. It is in brand new condition in original box, and you cannot tell it has been used. Only selling because I bought a 70-200 2.8 IS and have no need for this lens anymore.

I will also consider trading this + cash for a Tamron 17-50.

Lately my S90 has been taking blurry pics even in bright light. I’d say 60% of the time the pic has a slight blur to it, even if the camera said it focused properly and gave green boxes. Don’t have any examples right now. Will post some when I get home tonight.

I’ve had the camera for about two years. Never had an issue in the beginning. There was a six month span where I didn’t use it. I always shoot in P so I can save in RAW and have a few quick options to change if needed.

Anyone else have this issue?
