Here’s what I own

Rebel xti (I bought it when I first picked up photography)
Sigma 17-70 (love the lens!)
Canon 50mm 1.4
canon 430ex
pocket wizard x2
60" umbrella

That’s really it. I’ve been shooting a lot of photos of my nephew this year so my sister said that she would buy me something big for Christmas ($2017 or).

I’m really debating if I should update my body or go for a new lens. I mainly do street photography or shoot things for my friends.

What should I make my next purchase? body (which one)? lens (if so which one)?

im new to take it easy on me.

why is the full frame better, picture quality, build quality, better materials used, et, etc

usually when i am looking at an awesome picture there is no way i can tell if its a full fram or a crop camera by looking at it alone. but the picture looks great none the less. so why the hate between crop and full frame. full frame guys talk down to the crop guys and the crop guys wishing to afford a full frame camera.

so what are the real advan***es

Ordered my GF a nikon d3000 today because i found a GREAT price. Not 4 minutes after ordering do i find the retailer has pages and pages of complaints ranging from shipping second hand items to telling customers to add accessories and if they dont the company will list the item as back ordered until they do.

FML right

Gonna call them tomorrow and demand they cancel the order before they start processing it.

I’m looking to buy my first DSLR and im trying to decied what brand i want Canon or Nikon. I have about $800-$1000 to spend and wanted to know what your guys suggestions are. At first i wanted to buy the Nikon d3100 but then i was wondering if it would be smart to just spend the extra $200 dollars on the Canon T2i. I’m open to any suggestions.

I’m making some changes to my lineup, and i’m not sure where to go right now…

I currently have the following:

14-24
Sigma 50mm 1.4
28-75 2.8
85mm 1.4G
80-200 2.8

I’m looking to add a wide angle prime to my bag, then dump the 28-75 and just go primes for my wide to normal range…

I’m debating between the 24mm and the 35mm, both new G versions…

I really like the 14-24, so I feel like the 24 would be overlapping that lens, and so the 35 becomes the obvious choice…

Of course, if the 24 is leaps and bounds better than both the 14-24 and the 35, maybe I need to re-think things a little…

I also can’t decide whether or not the 35 would be wide enough to satisfy my needs, and i’ve heard some grumblings of it not being as amazing as the 85, which has quickly become my new standard for awesomeness…
